Jurisdiction:
The County Court at Law of Polk County is a statutory Court exercising civil and criminal jurisdiction concurrent with the Constitutional County Court of Polk County. This includes probate matters, jurisdiction over Class A and B misdemeanors and appeals from Justice of the Peace and Municipal Courts. Additionally, the County Court at Law exercises concurrent jurisdiction with the District Courts of Polk County in civil cases in which the matter in controversy exceeds $500 but does not exceed $100,000, cases and proceedings involving the collection of delinquent taxes, penalties, interest and costs and the foreclosure of tax liens, and family law cases and proceedings, including Juvenile matters.
