Texas Counties Deliver
Polk County Commissioners Court
As a group, the four County Commissioners, each elected from a quarter of the county's population, and the County Judge are the chief policy-making and administrative branch of county government. Among their many functions, the Court adopts a tax rate and determines how the collected revenues will be distributed among different county departments to provide services to the community.
The court meets in regular session on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom, located on the 3rd floor of the Polk County Courthouse.

In an effort to minimize the spread of the coronavirus in Polk County, available seating in the Commissioners Courtroom will be limited to essential personnel. Commissioners Court will be live-streamed on the Polk County Commissioners Court YouTube channel at

We ask that public comments be limited to essential items only while the Public Health Emergency is ongoing. If too many people are in attendance, members of the public wishing to comment may only be allowed to enter the courtroom to address the Court one at a time. Upon entering the courthouse, we ask all employees and members of the public to wear a mask and to maintain a safe social distance of at least 3-6 feet from all other persons as much as possible.
