                     Jurisdiction: The County Court at Law of Polk County is a statutory court exercising both civil and criminal jurisdiction as determined by the Texas Legislature.  Concurrent with the County Court, the County Court at Law hears Class A and B misdemeanors, appeals from Justice of the Peace and Municipal Courts, probate cases and guardianship's.  Additionally, the Court exercises concurrent jurisdiction with the District Courts of Polk County in family law cases, juvenile matters, CPS cases, and other civil cases in which the matter in controversy exceeds $500 but does not exceed $250,000, and cases and proceedings involving the collection of delinquent taxes and foreclosure of tax liens.
